Matt was born and raised in Fairhope. He started playing tennis at the age of 4 at Point Clear Tennis Club; his parents were one of the original members. Matt was ranked #1 in the state of Alabama in the Boy's 10's, 12's ,14's, 16's, & 18's. He was top 5 in the South when he was 12 and #1 in the South in the boy's 18 & under. Matt had the opportunity to play many great players during his junior years including Courier, Agassi, Chang, and Sampras. He played college tennis at A.U.M. and the University of Alabama. Matt went to Canada to play in the minor leagues of professionsl tennis when he was 20 yrs. old. He has been coaching tennis for 20+ years and has been a certified USPTA professional since 1994.
Joseph O'Dwyer - USPTR Certified Professional / ATP Tour Coach

Joseph grew up in Ireland where he won 3 Irish National Junior Titles and played on the Irish International Tennis Teams. He earned a full tennis scholarship to Northern Kentucky where he played #1 singles and #1 doubles and competed on the men's professional tennis circuit for four years. Currently Joseph serves as a personal coach to the Irish Davis Cup players. In addition, Joseph has coached top 100 ranked players from the ATP such as Jeff Salzenstein, Brian Vahaly, and Conor Niland. Many of Joseph's players have earned tennis scholarships to prestigious universities throughout the United States. With his experience, he will ensure that top level coaching will continue at the Point Clear Tennis Club.
Brad Townshend - USPTA Certified Professional

Brad started tennis at the age of 13 at the Racquet Club of Memphis and quickly became one of the top 10 juniors in the state. He earned a full tennis scholarship, played #1 singles and #1 doubles at Northwest Mississippi CC, and won the college state championship in both singles & doubles while at NMCC. Brad went on to be the assistant tennis professional at the Whitehaven Tennis Center in South Haven, MS. Brad interned under Eph Walker at the Peninsula Racquet Club in Gulf Shores before becoming the tennis assistant at the Beach Club at Fort Morgan under Buck Bobo. Brad moved to Fairhope in 2006 and has been the city tennis professional for the past two years.
